State Reports First Hospitalization of the 2008-2009 Flu
Season
El Paso County Infant Is Recovering at Home
Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2008 - DENVER - An El Paso County
infant was the first person in the state to be hospitalized
with influenza in the new flu season, the Colorado
Department of Public Health and Environment confirmed today.
The infant was released and now is recovering at home.

Preparedness Conference to Explore Disaster Scenarios
Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2008 - DENVER - The Colorado Department of Public Health and
Environment and the Colorado Ambulatory Surgery Center
Association announce an upcoming emergency preparedness
conference in Colorado to address challenges associated with
effectively responding to disasters. Participants will begin
collaborative planning to engage Colorado ambulatory surgery
centers in Colorado’s disaster response plans. Media are

Utah Firm Recalls Lean Cuisine Frozen Chicken Meals Due to
Plastic Contents
Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2008 - DENVER - The Colorado
Department of Public Health and Environment today announced
that Nestlé Prepared Foods Company, in Springville, Utah, is
recalling nearly 900,000 pounds of frozen chicken meals that
may contain small pieces of hard plastic.

Tobacco Users Steps Toward Healthier Lifestyle
Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2008 - DENVER - On Thursday,
Nov. 20, thousands of Colorado smokers will participate in
the 32nd Great American Smokeout and take steps toward a
healthier lifestyle, by quitting smoking for the day, and
possibly for the rest of their lives. The Colorado QuitLine
is standing by to help people take the first step toward
quitting.
