Boulder County Bad Check Restitution Program
Effective October 1, 2002, the Boulder County
District Attorney’s Office initiated a Bad Check Restitution Program. District Attorney Mary
Lacy brought this
program to Boulder County to assist merchants in the recovery of revenue lost
to bad checks.
The primary goal of the Bad Check Program is to obtain
restitution, and secondly to divert bad check writers from further
participation with the criminal justice system.
